Saint Gerard Majella (1726-1775) was a humble and patient messenger of peace, of forgiveness and of love in the regions of Puglia, Basilicata and Campania: miracles, conversions and healings accompanied him wherever he went. Ever since his death he has been identified as the saint of the poor and lowly. To conceal his miracles would be denying history, denying that virtue in Gerard that was the source of all others: a faith capable of moving mountains, according to the Lord's promise. Without his miracles, a book about his life would be a novel just like any other.
