Saint Michael is the first angel who, for his importance, stands in front of the Most High. His name, which means "Who is like God?", was the battle-cry with which Michael attacked and defeated the angels who rebelled against God. It is a common belief that Saint Michael the Archangel continues to fight against Satan and his evil spirits to destroy their power and to help the Church reach a final victory.
